Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province , Atas Parlindungan Lubis, and his staff held an audience with the Rector of the University of Lampung (UNILA), Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., I.P.M., in the meeting room of the UNILA Rectorate, Tuesday (6/2/2024).
This audience aims to follow up on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) that have been signed between BPS-Statistics Lampung Province and UNILA regarding the Statistics Corner Program and the Love Statistics Village (Desa Cantik).
There were two main agendas discussed at this meeting. First, related to the Statistics Corner Program that has been established at the UNILA Faculty of Economics and Business.
The Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, hopes that this meeting can be a common concern by BPS-Statistics and UNILA, so that the existence of the Statistics Corner can be strengthened with a management institutional structure in it, so that in the future it can be easier to coordinate and evaluate.
Second, related to the Implementation of the Village Love Statistics Program (Desa Cantik) and Students Love Statistics (Maha Cantik) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNILA.
The Desa Cantik program aims to increase public awareness and participation in statistical development at the village level.
While the Maha Cantik program aims to increase the interest and talent of students in the field of statistics.
From this meeting, UNILA also hopes that in the future all of these programs can be integrated with campus programs, such as KKN, PKL in BPS-Statistics Desa Cantik Locations in regencies / cities in Lampung Province.
UNILA Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., I.P.M., welcomed this collaboration and stated that she was ready to support BPS-Statistics programs.
"UNILA has qualified human resources in the field of statistics. We have 39,000 students, and 8 faculties that are ready to assist BPS in improving the quality of statistical data in Lampung," Afriani said.
Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, expressed his appreciation to UNILA for its commitment in supporting BPS-Statistics programs so far.
"The cooperation between BPS-Statistics and UNILA is very important to improve the statistical literacy of the community in Lampung Province," Atas said.
Both parties agreed to hold more in-depth meetings, related to the discussion of further cooperation in the field of statistics.
It is hoped that this collaboration can further increase the level of statistical literacy in Lampung Province, and can provide positive mutual benefits in building statistical literacy in Lampung Province.
