Synergy between BPS and Regional Apparatus: Realizing Quality Sectoral Statistics for Lampung

BPS-Statistics Lampung Province held a Sectoral Statistics Development activity on Thursday (7/3/2024), at Horison Hotel, Bandar Lampung. 

This activity aims to follow up the results of the Evaluation of the Implementation of Sectoral Statistics (EPSS) 2023 and improve the quality of sectoral statistics for stakeholders in Lampung Province.

Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, opened the event and emphasized the importance of sectoral statistics in supporting regional development. 

"Sectoral statistics are very important for planning, monitoring, and evaluating regional development," said the Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis. 

"Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of the implementation of sectoral statistics so that the data produced is reliable and useful for its users," Atas continued.

This activity was attended by representatives from Bappeda and Diskominfotik as presenters, as well as several other related agencies in Lampung Province.

Bappeda presented material on "Synergy of Regional Government Sectoral Statistics Development to Support Synchronization and Harmonization of Regional Development (Based on SIPD)", then continued by Diskominfotik who presented material on "Diskominfotik's Role as a Data Agency in Improving Sectoral Statistics Development in Lampung Province".

On this occasion, BPS Lampung Province also gave appreciation to all Regional Apparatus for their participation in data collection for the publication of Lampung Province in Figures 2024. 

Awards were given to 3 Regional Apparatus that were responsive and actively participated, namely:

Best 1: Lampung Provincial Health Office

Best 2: Lampung Province Plantation Service

Best 3: Lampung Provincial Transportation Office

The participants were also given the opportunity to discuss and ask questions related to the material presented.

This activity is expected to increase stakeholders' understanding of the importance of sectoral statistics and encourage them to improve the quality of statistical implementation in their respective regions. Thus, the statistical data produced can be a strong basis for more effective and efficient regional planning and development.
