The Manufacturing Industry sector grew by 6.51% in the first quarter of 2024.

The Manufacturing Industry sector is the second largest contributor to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) after the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector in Lampung Province, contributing Rp21,213.15 billion or 18.92 percent of the total GRDP in the first quarter of 2024.

The Economic Performance of the Manufacturing Industry sector in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, grew by 6.51 percent (year-on-year). One of the reasons for this growth is the increased production in the beverage industry, Non-Metallic Mineral Products industry, and Machinery and Equipment industry based on preliminary data from the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik).

The Manufacturing Industry plays a crucial role in the economy, being a major consumer of raw materials, a creator of employment opportunities, and a driver of technology transfer. Understanding its strategic role, both the government and the private sector need to continuously support the development of the manufacturing industry through appropriate policies, investment in infrastructure, and enhancement of human resources.
