Analysis of the Results of the COVID-19 Impact Survey on Business Actors in Lampung Province

The Covid-19 pandemic that has taken place since the beginning of 2020 has had an impact on changes in social life and has decreased economic performance in most countries in the world, including Indonesia, including Lampung Province. The decline in Lampung's economic performance has occurred since the first quarter of 2020, which is reflected in the economic growth rate in the first quarter of 2020 which only reached 1.74 percent (y on y), and again decreased significantly in the second quarter of 2020 which grew minus 3.57. percent (y on y). However, the decline in economic performance that also occurred globally could become a momentum for Indonesia, especially Lampung Province, to make improvements and catch up, as stated by the president. Fundamental economic reform by carrying out transformation, implementing the right strategy for recovery and future preparedness for similar crisis conditions for all business actors and also the government is the key to strengthening our economic development.
For that, valid and accurate data is needed as the main key to success. The availability of data to make plans, make the right decisions, and to execute programs so that they are right on target is absolute. The availability of this data and information is the main capital in the efforts of the national economic recovery program during this pandemic.
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Lampung Province tries to attend and play a role, even though BPS faces obstacles due to the application of physical distancing which makes conventional data collection difficult. However, with innovation and taking advantage of technological advances in data collection such as the use of online surveys, making efforts to provide data more open. The Covid-19 Impact Survey on Business Actors, which is additional statistics and conducted online, is one form of this innovation.
The presentation of additional statistics in the form of indicators of the impact of Covid-19 aims to provide information to stakeholders in order to formulate plans and quick and strategic steps in national economic recovery.
