Portrait of the 2020 Population Census of Lampung Province

The availability of population data in terms of number, distribution, and composition is very important for an area as a basis for planning and evaluating development. With the right strategy, the population can become the nation's strength for an advanced Indonesia. In order to realize the ideals of an Advanced Indonesia, BPS endeavors to complete the mandate to carry out the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) with various challenges in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. With the permission of God Almighty accompanied by the hard work of all parties, the SP2020 field data collection has been completed with various governance adjustments at every stage and still adheres to the big goals of SP2020.
Even though SP2020 was implemented in the midst of a pandemic, there were several innovations implemented, one of which was the use of a combination method which was applied for the first time in the history of the population census in Indonesia. The combination method is the use of population administration data (adminduk) from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Ditjen Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) as the SP2020 basic data. This is designed and implemented as an effort to realize One Indonesian Population Data.
The implementation journey and results of the SP2020 in Lampung Province are presented briefly in the booklet Portrait of the 2020 Population Census of Lampung Province. This booklet presents an aggregate of basic data on the population of Lampung Province up to the district/city level. The basic data coverage of the SP2020 results is the total population by gender, administrative area, along with derived parameters such as population density, sex ratio, and population growth rate. These data are expected to meet the needs of the latest population data for planning, monitoring, evaluation of development programs and various research references.
