Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province Attends Lampung Inflation Control Coordination Meeting

Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, attended the invitation of coordination meeting in order to control inflation in Lampung Province, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

The Regional Secretary of Lampung Province, Fahrizal Darminto, who chaired the meeting, stated that he would intensively monitor food prices to prevent inflation in his region.

"The coordination that we have done today with several regions namely Metro Municipality, Bandar Lampung Municipality, Mesuji Regency, and Lampung Timur Regency to overcome inflation in Lampung in 2024. BPS-Statistics and Bank Indonesia provided evaluation and input," Fahrizal said when asked for information, Wednesday (10/1/2024).

He explained, from this meeting it is expected that each Agency and Regency / Municipality Government which is the location of the inflation area survey can know their respective duties, and to keep the inflation rate in Lampung Province in 2024 to be maintained, intensive food price monitoring activities will be carried out.

These efforts are made because of the potential for an increase in food prices in the next few months, especially ahead of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Chinese New Year.

In addition to price monitoring, the regional government will also accelerate the planting of several key commodities and coordinate with BUMDs to keep food supplies available.

The local government also expects support from districts and cities to address food shortages and ensure food supplies remain available.
