The Indonesian Democracy Index in Lampung Province has a medium level in 2022

The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) is a quantitative measuring tool used to evaluate the extent of development and implementation of political development used by the government in the 2010 – 2014, 2015 – 2019 and 2020 – 2024 RPJMN. The IDI figure itself is built from three aspects, namely, the freedom aspect, the equality aspect, and the capacity aspect of democratic institutions.

The IDI calculation method uses triangulation, namely combining quantitative and qualitative search methods, with a certain design so that the data obtained from one method will validate (cross validate) the data obtained by another method. Quantitative data was collected through tracking events in printed newspapers and online news portals, secondary data, and indexes produced by government agencies. The data was validated in an FGD involving relevant experts. IDI numbers are calculated at both national and provincial levels.

In 2022, the IDI figure in Lampung Province will be 78.32, meaning that democratic life in the Lampung region is at a medium level. If we examine more deeply the development aspects, it can be seen that the three aspects have "medium" performance, where the freedom aspect reaches a value of 79.90, the equality aspect reaches a value of 79.37, and the capacity aspect of democratic institutions reaches a value of 75.52.
