Podes 2024 Officer Training Visit by BPS-Statistics Lampung Province

April 26, 2024 | BPS Activities

BPS-Statistics Lampung Province conducted a visit to the Podes 2024 Officer Training on Thursday, (25/4/2024). This visit was carried out to ensure the readiness of officers in carrying out the data collection of village potential (PODES) which will be carried out in May and to resolve problems found during the training of PODES 2024 officers.
PODES is the only regional database that is owned up to the village level in Indonesia. This year's Podes data collection is carried out 2 years before the economic census to provide accurate basic data as a basis for preparing the 2026 Economic Census.

Representing the Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, this training Supervision visit was carried out by the Head of the Social Statistics Team of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Febiyana Qomariyah, and accompanied by the National Instructor (Innas) of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Reny Andriati.

In her remarks, Febiyana conveyed the importance of PODES as a source of territorial data for the government in formulating development policies at the village level. Podes is useful for determining village status. In addition, PODES data is useful in calculating the Geographical Difficulty Index (IKG).

The PODES Data Collection Training in Lampung Province was held for 3 effective days, from April 22 to 30, 2024. The training was attended by 542 officers who will serve as PODES data collectors in 15 districts/cities for all villages in Lampung Province.

Podes officers throughout Lampung Province were trained by 30 Regional Instructors (Inda) who had attended previous training at the national level. In this training, the officers received material on the concept and definition of PODES, PODES data collection methodology, and the use of the FASIH application used in PODES data collection.

"Through this training, we hope that PODES officers can understand their duties and responsibilities well, and be able to carry out PODES data collection in accordance with predetermined SOPs," said Febiyana.

The 2024 PODES data collection is expected to produce quality and accurate data, so that it can be a strong basis for the government in formulating targeted and sustainable development policies.
