Today, June 26, is celebrated as International Anti-Narcotics Day. This moment is an important reminder for all of us to unite against the dangers of narcotics that continue to lurk in society, especially in Lampung Province.
Based on records from the Lampung Provincial Police, 2022 shows worrying numbers. It was recorded that 1,516 cases of narcotics-related crimes occurred in Lampung Province, and Bandar Lampung City was the area with the highest cases, namely 219 cases.
Apart from crime incidents based on data from the Regional Police which uses a perpetrator approach, crime incidents can also be seen based on regional scope (villages/sub-districts).
Lampung Province Village Potential Statistics (Podes) 2014, 2018 and 2021, shows that during the 2014 - 2021 period, there were 7.07 to 12.85 percent of villages in Lampung exposed to narcotics-related crimes. This figure jumped in 2018 with 17.56 percent of villages exposed, but fortunately in 2021 there was a slight decrease to 12.85 percent.
Narcotics are an extraordinary crime that is destroying Lampung society, destroying the young generation and destroying the future. Say NO to drugs, say YES to a brighter future!
