The Gender Empowerment Index (IDG) is a measure used to assess the extent to which women and men have equal access to economic and political opportunities, as well as participation in decision-making across various aspects of life. A higher IDG indicates greater empowerment and gender equality in that region.

In the province of Lampung, the IDG fluctuated during the period from 2019 to 2023. In 2019, the IDG for Lampung Province reached 69.23. However, there was a decline in 2020-2021 followed by an increase in 2022, and finally, by 2023, the IDG for Lampung Province was 68.16. This figure indicates that women in Lampung have a relatively good level of empowerment, yet there are still challenges that need to be addressed to achieve full gender equality between women and men. This depends on various components such as political participation, decision-making by professionals, and control over economic resources approached with a contribution of income.
