15 out of 100 Elderly People Will Not Be Able to Read and Write by 2023

August 21, 2024 | Other Activities

In Lampung Province, there are 15 out of every 100 elderly who are unable to read and write Latin letters or other letters in 2023, which is equivalent to 14.72% of the elderly population. Although this figure shows a decrease compared to previous years—namely 15.71% in 2022 and 16.61% in 2021—there are still significant challenges in overcoming illiteracy among the elderly in Lampung. Continuous efforts in literacy education and training for the elderly remain crucial to improving the welfare and empowerment of the elderly.
