BPS Lampung Province Holds Knowledge Sharing on Data Visualization Using Metabase and Internalization of Application/Information System Development

BPS-Statistics Lampung Province held a Knowledge Sharing with the topic of Data Visualization Using Metabase and an Internalization of Application/Information System Development session online via Zoom on Friday (13/12).

This activity is a follow-up to the innovation competition that was held on Wednesday-Thursday (11-12 December 2024). The event took place from morning to afternoon and was attended by representatives of the work teams throughout Lampung Province.

In his remarks, the Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province said that activities like this are very important to improve the capacity and quality of human resources in the current digital era. "Hopefully, with this sharing session, we can all be more proficient in processing and visualizing the data we have, so that we can provide more useful information for decision-making," he said.

In the Knowledge Sharing session, participants were invited to understand data visualization techniques using Metabase, a tool that is increasingly popular in data analysis and presentation. With the online method, this event allows participants to learn and discuss without geographical boundaries, facilitating a wider knowledge exchange. The participants' enthusiasm in the interactive Q&A with the speakers was evident from how the participants explored the features available in Metabase, which showed how important and interesting the topics discussed in this session were.

In the Internalization session, participants were invited to actively discuss the applications/information systems that are currently running, both at BPS Province and Regency/Municipality to be integrated into one application that can be used by all BPS employees throughout Lampung Province. There are several features that can be replicated and are a priority to be worked on by the development team at BPS throughout Lampung Province.

BPS-Statistics Lampung Province hopes that both the Knowledge Sharing and Internalization sessions can continue to be carried out periodically, in order to support the improvement of the competence and professionalism of all its employees in facing the challenges of the digital era.
