BPS-Statistics Lampung Province held a statistical literacy education with the theme “Get to Know More about Employment Indicators” online on Thursday, (30/5/24). This activity aims to increase public understanding of employment indicators and their utilization in various fields.
The event was officially opened by the Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, who was represented by an Associate Expert Statistician, Dwiyana Suharyati. In her speech, Dwiyana conveyed the importance of labor statistics as an indicator to measure labor market conditions and formulate targeted policies.
The educational material was delivered by an Associate Expert Statistician of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Febiyana Qomariyah. Febiyana explained various kinds of labor indicators, such as labor force participation rate, open unemployment rate, and minimum wage. Febiyana also provided examples of the utilization of labor indicators in various fields, such as development planning, labor policy formulation, and policy impact analysis.
This statistical literacy education was attended by participants from various backgrounds, including students, lecturers, researchers, and government officials. Participants enthusiastically participated in this activity and many asked questions to the speakers.
This statistical literacy education activity is one of the efforts of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province to improve statistical literacy in the community. BPS hopes that with the increase in statistical literacy, the community can understand and utilize statistical data properly for various purposes.
