Portrait of Poverty in Lampung Province: Stories, Data, and Directions for Poverty Reduction

This book is built on three main foundations. First, data: as the country's official statistical agency, BPS-Statistics Indonesia (BPS) presents comprehensive and reliable data on the trends, distribution, and characteristics of poverty in Lampung Province. This data not only describes macroeconomic conditions but also details how poverty is experienced by various groups and regions. Second, we recognize that behind every poverty figure is a human being with a complex life experience. Therefore, this book includes stories from Lampung residents living in challenging circumstances. These stories are not intended to evoke pity alone, but to build empathy and a deeper understanding of their socio-economic context. Third, this book also attempts to formulate reflections and strategic directions that stakeholders can take in efforts to reduce poverty in a more targeted, measurable, and sustainable manner.
