Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province Supervises SNLIK in Way Kanan Regency

January 23, 2024 | BPS Activities

Head of the BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, together with the Head of BPS-Statistics Way Kanan Regency, Jua Mahardhika, carried out supervision at several survey location points in Way Kanan Regency to oversee the implementation of the 2024 National Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK) in Lampung Province.

Atas Parlindungan Lubis, Tuesday (23/1/2024) explained that SNLIK supervision activities aim to ensure that the survey implementation process in the field has been carried out in accordance with existing SOPs and methodologies, so that the accuracy of the data produced can be accounted for.

The data collection method used by field survey officers is to use direct interview techniques with respondents and apply Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI).

The implementation of SNLIK is the realization of a cooperation agreement between the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and BPS-Statistics to increase financial literacy and inclusion as well as consumer protection in the financial services sector.

Previously, on December 6, 2023, OJK and BPS-Statistics Lampung Province jointly held training for SNLIK 2024 officers at the Amalia Hotel, Bandar Lampung.

Atas explained that this survey included 10,800 individual and household respondents in 120 districts/cities spread across 34 provinces. The output of SNLIK is to determine the community's financial literacy and inclusion index, measure the effectiveness of financial education and literacy programs carried out, and provide input to Financial Services Institutions (LJK) in developing strategies for fulfilling financial products and services that suit consumer needs.

"The financial literacy index measurement period which is grouped into 9 (nine) financial services sectors, namely Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance, Financing Institutions, Pension Funds, Pawnshops, Microfinance Institutions (LKM), Fintech Lending, and other Financial Services Institutions is covered in the last 12 months from the time the survey was carried out," he explained.

Currently, the implementation of SNLIK 2024 activities has entered the sample household data collection stage, which will end on February 5, 2024.
