A reported crime incident is any incident that the public reports to the National Police, or an incident where the perpetrator is caught red-handed by the police.
In 2022, the number of reported crimes is 11,194 cases, an increase of 14.64% compared to 2021. In 2022, 1,878 out of 100,000 residents are at risk of being exposed to crime, 17.6% higher than in 2021. The risk of the population being exposed to crime per 100,000 residents indicates the opportunity residents are at risk of crime.
A crime occurs every 22 minutes and 57 seconds, longer than in 2021. The time interval between crimes occurring indicates the time interval between one crime and another crime. As many as 63.70% of crime cases were successfully resolved by the police. This has decreased compared to 2021.
A crime is declared a closed case at the police level if:
1. The case files are ready to be submitted or have been submitted to the prosecutor's office;
2. In the event of a complaint offense, the complaint shall be withdrawn within the time limit determined by law;
3. Has been resolved by the police based on the principle of plichmatigheid (obligation based on legal authority);
4. The case in question does not fall within the competence of the police;
5. The suspect dies; And
6. Case expired.
Pesisir Barat Regency is the district with the lowest number of crimes in 2022. On the other hand, Metro Municipality is the most crime-prone city in Lampung Province. As many as 434 out of 100,000 Metro city residents are at risk of crime in 2022.
