Red chilies, the highest inflation commodity in February 2024

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Lampung Province in February 2024 was recorded at 0.39 percent, or it can be interpreted that during February 2024 there was a general price increase of 0.39 percent when compared to prices in the month January 2024.

The expenditure group that experienced inflation and had the highest share was the food, beverage and tobacco group, with m-to-m inflation of 1.16 percent and contributing to inflation of 0.39 percent. The commodity that experienced the highest inflation in February 2024 on an m-to-m basis was red chilies, with inflation of 18.73 percent. This means that the price of red chilies in Lampung Province has increased by 18.73 percent when compared to January 2024.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for red chili commodities in February 2024 is 148.66. The CPI for February 2024 uses a base year of 2022=100. This can be interpreted that during the period January 2023 to February 2024 there has been an increase in prices for red chili commodities by 48.66 percent when compared to the average price in 2022.
