BPS-Statistics Lampung Province Records Lampung Inflation March 2024 Reaches 3.45%

BPS-Statistics Lampung Province recorded that inflation in March 2024 year-on-year (yoy) reached 3.45%. This figure is higher than national inflation of 3.05%.

 

Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, said that the highest inflation occurred in East Lampung at 4.83%, while Bandar Lampung City had the lowest inflation rate, namely 2.72%.

 

"The highest inflation was in East Lampung 4.83% and the lowest was in Bandar Lampung 2.72%," said Atas in an official release live on the BPS-Statistics Lampung Province Youtube channel, Monday (1/4/2024).

 

On a month-to-month (m-to-m) basis, inflation in March 2024 versus February 2024 was 0.36%. This figure is lower than the previous month's inflation of 0.39%.

 

The expenditure group that had the highest contribution to inflation was Food, Beverages and Tobacco, namely 2.64%.

The rice commodity contributed the highest year-on-year inflation with a contribution of 1.01%, followed by garlic (0.22%), purebred chicken (0.17%), red chilies (0.15%), and coffee powder (0.13%).

 

"The Food, Beverage and Tobacco group has a significant contribution to the overall inflation rate," explained Atas.

 

The next expenditure group, Clothing and Footwear at 0.24%, Housing, Water, Electricity and Household Fuel: 0.1%, Supplies, Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance: 0.02%,

 

Then in the health group it is 0.03%, Transportation: 0.03%, Recreation, Sports and Culture: 0.02%, Education 0.18%, Provision of Food and Drink/Restaurants 0.08%, and Personal Care and Other Services 0.12%.

 

Meanwhile, the expenditure group which experienced a decrease in the inflation rate was the Information, Communication and Financial Services expenditure group which experienced deflation of -0.18% with a share of -0.01%.
