13% of women of reproductive age will give birth to live-born children with low birth weight in 2023
June 16, 2024 | Other Activities
In 2012, the World Health Assembly (WHA) approved the Comprehensive Implementation Plan for Maternal, Infant and Child Nutrition, one of which is reducing the percentage of low birth weight.
In 2023, the percentage of ever-married women aged 15-49 years who gave birth to live-born children in the last two years and the last live-born child born with low birth weight in Lampung Province will be 13 percent. In the three year period (2021-2023), this indicator number has increased, although slightly. This phenomenon should be of concern to local governments to increase understanding of pregnant women so that they increase their food intake to improve the health of mothers and future babies.
