Gross Enrollment Rate (APK) for Higher Education in Lampung Province 2023 is 21.88

The gross enrollment rate (APK) in tertiary institutions is a comparison between the number of students who are still studying at the tertiary level regardless of their age, with the total population of college age in general, namely 19–23 years. The high APK of tertiary institutions indicates a high level of participation in higher education. APK can be more than 100% because APK also takes into account students whose age is outside the range of 19 – 23 years. Therefore, achieving 100% is something that is worth striving for but is not enough, because it is not certain that all teenagers in that age range can access higher education.

In general, it can be said that the APK for tertiary institutions in Lampung Province throughout 2018–2023 is still low. The value is still below 25.00 percent. In fact, in 2023, the APK for higher education will be 21.88 percent, while the previous year, the APK for higher education in 2022 will reach 21.48 percent.

This indicator shows the general level of population participation at a certain level of education. To show how much capacity the education system can accommodate students from certain school age groups. GER is the simplest indicator to measure the absorption capacity of the school age population at each level of education.
