Tito Karnavian Chairs Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting

Tuesday, August 30, 2022, Chief of the BPS-Statistics of Lampung Province, Endang Retno Sri Subiyandani, attended the Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting (Rakor) which was chaired directly by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Tito Karnavian, who was accompanied by the Chief of the BPS-Statistics, Margo Yuwono.

 

The Chief of BPS-Statistics of Lampung attended virtually in the Auditorium Room of the Lampung Province Bank Indonesia Representative Office with the Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi, and the ranks of the Lampung Province Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

 

In his direction, Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, conveyed that with the COVID-19 pandemic, all countries, all regional heads throughout Indonesia, are facing the biggest health crisis in history which has lasted for more than two years and is currently unfinished.

 

“In addition, the war between Russia and Ukraine has an impact on the economy. Russia's invasion of Ukraine caused the global economy to suffer the effects of slower growth and faster inflation. The impact will flow through three main channels, namely higher commodity prices, the economy and trade will be disrupted as well as reduced business confidence and uncertainty," he added.

 

Furthermore, the Chief of the BPS-Statistics, Margo Yuwono, in his presentation conveyed various achievements of Indonesia's macroeconomic indicators until the first semester of 2022.

 

“It is a note that we continue to work together to maintain inflation so that high inflation does not occur and disrupts the economic recovery that has been good this semester. Because high inflation affects purchasing power, poverty and so on. In addition, food and energy inflation needs to be a concern. Commodities of red chili and shallots need to be monitored for price developments so that in the following months they do not provide an inflationary boost,” he said.

 

In addition, the Chief of the Lampung Province BPS also conveyed to the Governor of Lampung about the Socio-Economic Registration (Regsosek) activities and asked for his support in the implementation of Regsosek in October-November 2022
