BPS-Statistics Lampung Province reported inflation of 0.05 percent on a month-to-month basis in September 2024. The Education Group was the largest contributor with a share of 0.26 percent.
The Head of BPS-Statistics Lampung Province, Atas Parlindungan Lubis, in his official release delivered online in Bandar Lampung on Tuesday (1/10), explained that the Education Group had the highest share of inflation in September 2024. "The expenditure group that had the highest share of inflation in September 2024 on a month-to-month basis was the Education Group with a share of 0.26 percent," he said.
Furthermore, Atas Parlindungan Lubis added that the main commodities contributing to inflation on a month-to-month basis were Academies/Higher Education Institutions (0.26 percent), Shallots (0.06 percent), Rice (0.03 percent), House Contracts (0.03 percent), and Rice with Side Dishes (0.02 percent).
The annual inflation rate (year-on-year) in September 2024 was recorded at 2.16 percent. The Food, Beverage, and Tobacco group contributed the highest to the formation of this inflation with inflation of 3.51 percent and a contribution of 1.14 percent. The five main commodities that contributed to this group were Ground Coffee (0.32 percent), Machine-made Clove Cigarettes (SKM) (0.24 percent), Shallots (0.18 percent), Granulated Sugar (0.11 percent), and Hand-rolled Clove Cigarettes (0.09 percent).
BPS-Statistics Lampung Province also recorded the annual inflation rate (year-on-year) and monthly (month-to-month) in the four CPI regencies/cities observed, namely Lampung Timur Regency, Mesuji Regency, Bandar Lampung Municipality, and Metro Municipality. Mesuji Regency recorded the highest annual inflation rate of 2.84 percent, while Metro Municipality recorded the lowest inflation rate of 1.86 percent. For monthly inflation, Bandar Lampung Municipality recorded the highest inflation at 0.19 percent, while Metro Municipality recorded the lowest inflation at 0.01 percent. The deepest deflation was recorded in Mesuji Regency at 0.42 percent.
